I'm looking for any info on William H. BENSON shown in the 1900
census for Chaves Co., Portales. The census shows William H. BENSON , age 53, b. Oct., 1846, b. Ohio. Wife Callie, 26, b. Texas Child Rebecca, age 10 (probably step-child). I believe this William Benson to be the same William Benson shown in the 1880 census for Lubbock County. I would appreciate any help. | |

ANDERSON was born in 1855 in TX, married
Nancy F. DUNCAN, 28 November 1878 in Navarro Co., TX. They moved to

In the 1900 census, William ANDERSON is listed as a gardener at Fort Stanton in Lincoln Co. In the 1910 census William is living at 900 N. Kansas in Roswell, Chaves Co. At this time he is listed as a real estate agent. William and Nancy had four children: Levi C., born 1883 in TX, Walter H. born 1887 in NM, Ada A. born 1892 in NM, and Roberta born 1894 in NM. They also had four children who did not survive. I am trying to locate the dates of death for William and Nancy, and the marriages of their four children. I have not located them in the 1920 census. |

| I am looking for
information about where my grandmother, Rose Hattie COX HEMPHILL
is buried. What info I could get from family members states that Grandmother
Rose is buried in Lake Arthur Cemetery where her parents and child named
Leslie is buried. She passed away in 1943 at the age of 39. She had a son that passed just a week after she gave birth to him. I am not sure what his name is, but from my understanding, he is buried in the cemetery there in Roswell. His surname is HEMPHILL. I would like to find my grandmother's grave. My grandfather was William Andrew COX (called "Jack" by most people), and my grandmother was Meady WILLIAMSON COX. The grandchild buried with them was a twin, Leslie COX. |

From the 1930 U.S. Census/New Mexico: Lena A. SMITH , married, 17 years at last birthday. Husband, Garland W. (?) LIVINGSTON, age 23 at last birthday. Living at Las Animas Station, Hidalgo, Texas. Age at first marriage--Lena, 16 years. This would make the marriage date 1929 for Lena and Garland LIVINGSTON. Her parents are listed in the 1920 census as Andrew SMITH, birth about 1872, and Adele SMITH, East Plains, Chaves County, New Mexico. Her parents are listed in the 1930 census as Andrew and Adela SMITH living in Roswell, Chaves, New Mexico. I have searched Luna, Grant and Hidalgo Counties in New Mexico, and have found nothing. Maybe they married at her parents' home in Roswell? I appreciate any information on Lena Adeline SMITH and Garland Lindford (or W.) LIVINGSTON.
